Welcome to the Olympia-Yashiro Sister City Association web site. The OYSC association was incorporated as a non-profit in 1980 after a sister city relationship had been agreed upon by the Olympia and Yashiro town Councils.

Since that time, delegations from the two cities have exchanged visits of civic groups, students, teachers, and business leaders. The organization encourages cross-cultural understanding and internation friendship through its various projects and visits.

Olympia is very similar to Yashiro in population and infrastructure thereby making it very suitable for mutual trade, economic partnerships, and cultural exchanges.
